| The Internet is the best place to stay up to date on all the latest slot car racing news, 'how to' articles and racing events. The main English language slot car discussion boards are:- SlotForum International Slot Car Illustrated SlotBlog Slot Car Talk For 1/32nd Eurosport (Open Class) or 1/24th Services and Equipment If you are looking for high-tech equipment, I highly recommend both ABSlotSport and Slot Car Distributors (SCD) in the UK. ABSlotSport is run by Andy Brown-Searle and always seems to have the very latest equipment in stock. Being a competitive slot racer himself, Andy knows exactly what parts are needed and besides stocking everything needed by the Eurosport speed freaks, he also caters for the scratch-builder and 'retro' slot car enthusiasts. Andy provides an excellent mail-order service. SCD is run by Chas Keeling, who has been in the slot car racing business for more years than he cares to remember. Besides being a superb engineer and extremely knowledgeable about the hobby, Chas is a wonderful person to deal with. He supplies, usually ex-stock, the very latest equipment. SCD also has their own line of specialist equipment, catering for the 1/32nd Eurosport enthusiast, such as 1/32nd chassis building jigs, an indispensable motor shaft / rear axle alignment tool, the best braid in the world, hardened steel 72DP contrate (crown) gears, and other hard to find equipment. For motors, specialist armatures, balancing and motor rebuilding services, I recommend Pro Slot in the USA. Dan De Bella has raced and provided high-end specialist services for many years, with many US and international title successes under his belt. For Home-Set Cars, Track and Equipment For Scalextric, Ninco, Fly, Carrera, SCX, etc. home-set cars, track and parts, I recommend Pendle Slot Racing in the UK. Somehow, Pendle always has that replacement rear-view mirror, Fly Panoz rear-wing, or latest Slot.it motor you are looking for. Perhaps you are only looking for a Scalextric or a Fly body? Guaranteed Pendle will have it! Of course, Pendle also stocks all the latest home-set cars, tracks and accessories as well, including electronic lap-timers, hand controllers, power-packs, etc. I also like dealing with Gary Cannell at MRE. Gary's prices are amongst the most competitive and he also produces his own range of superb MRE decals, including licensed "repro" Cox decals in both 1/32nd and 1/24th scales. For hard to find vintage cars and parts, as well as all the latest home-set products, contact Electric Dreams in the USA. Originally owned by Philippe De Lespinay, Electric Dreams is now owned by Californian businessman and vintage racing car enthusiast, Scott Bader. Scott has invested a considerable amount of time and money to preserve the history of slot car racing and is at present building the Los Angeles Slot Car Museum, which should be open to the public in late 2008. |
